Mason Community Band - Mason, Ohio

History of the Band

The Mason Community Band came into existence as the result of a few interested individuals from the city of Mason, OH. Members of the local school board, the Director of the Mason Parks and Recreation Department, the Mason High School Band Director and a few others decided to investigate the possibility of organizing a community band. No one really knew if there would be enough local musicians available and willing to form such a band. In early in October 1996 a meeting was held in the Mason High School Band room to lay out a plan.

The Mason Community Band was officially organized on October 21, 1996, and performed its initial concert at a local retirement center.
